YDS (4) and I do homeschool preschool this year. We're doing the basics: letters numbers colors shapes sequencing weather etc. We talk about stuff all the time interacting with daily life, but sit down and do worksheets a few times per week.
Today I loved his descriptions of the pictures he was supposed to draw: 
Top picture: it 's the biggest cake ever Mom. Lots of layers with frosting on top. You should make it for me.
Bottom picture: the snake has wings and it's wearing a gorilla head to scare you!
