19 weeks

Figured I would start this week out with a picture of me since I skipped that last week. Not the most attractive shot as we just finished eating at the end of a long Saturday. But I forgot to take my Thursday picture so this is my punishment. =)

The past week has been exciting. We got the ultrasounds (per my previous post) last Thursday. Lots of amazing pictures of our healthy baby. However we got alot of skepticism about the "boy" shot. We already thought the technician was amusing by mistaking his FOOT for his parts.. But the continued questioning by people really got us wondering. So we booked an "elective" ultrasound with another company to do a "gender peek" this afternoon.

We were lucky enough to get another super friendly technician. She reassured us that the original shot was NOT the umbilical cord. It was just VERY magnified. She said that if you looked directly below him you see three lines before the "body" begins. Those three lines are the cord. That's how magnified it was. The shot to the right however is our new "boy" shot. The main portion of the picture is his belly. With his right arm and leg pictured above his belly. Then you have a clear view of his package before you see his left leg. His heart rate was in the 130's and he wasn't moving as much for this ultrasound. But she said he was probably just napping after lunch. He did move a bit after some prodding and we got to see him try to suck his thumb. I appreciate that he didn't seem to succeed at that, and gave up after a few seconds. It was adorable to watch though!

I've been feeling him move more, especially around meal times. Typical boy already revolves his days around food. =) No other major developments. Will go to the doc again on Thurs for the 20 week appt and will update then.
