37 Weeks

May I start by saying that I think the receptionist at my doctor's office is exceptionally horrid at her job? When we started going back in January there was a super nice efficient lady at the front desk. But sometime over the last few months she is gone and this new girl is there.

Our experience today that makes me want to share this with you? My appts are scheduled on Thursdays. They have been from the beginning. So every week I use some of my medical time to go in to my doctors appts. This morning I had a wonderful morning being spoiled by sleeping in and then having yummy scrambled eggs cooked for me. We saw Gman off to school, and then headed out the door for the doctor. As I'm signing in she looks at me all confused and tells me the doctor isn't in today. At first I'm thinking "oh, she's off on a delivery. I'm surprised this hasn't happened before now. Wonder what we do now." But then she elaborates. She says she called me on the 31st to tell me she had re-scheduled my appt to Monday. Not only did I never get a call from then, but there was definately no message. And what kind of receptionist calls to tell you the time they rescheduled you for? Wouldn't you just leave a message saying we need to reschedule please call us back??

So we're standing there and I'm trying to explain that I can't make it to an appointment on Monday, and she takes a phone call. Yes, it was the work line not her cell phone... But if you have a patient standing there don't you put the phone call on hold? Not in her world. She thinks you should leave the patients there waiting and listening to you discuss the issues of the person on the phone. Once she hangs up our conversation continues as we try to work things out and she does it again. WTF? Anyways. I will definately be talking to the doctor about her when I see the doctor next week.

The good news is that in the end she was able to talk to the doctor (poor lady being bothered on her vacation) and I don't have to go in on Monday or Tuesday and will just see her at the lovely pre-op appt on Thursday. I'm not sure quite what to expect that to be, but I'll let you know next week.

The rest of the week has been pretty good. We went shopping this weekend and got the rest of the goodies for Cheesepuff. He has the most adorable swing and bouncer now. And we have all the toiletries he'll need for at least the first few weeks. Plus our laundry detergent and diaper sprayer came in from our Amazon order last week. This weekend will be spent getting all his clothes, diapers and blankets washed. I can't wait. They're all so stinking cute, it's going to be great to have everything all put away and ready!
