They have a program at Gmans school called AR (Accelerated Reader). The kids have a list of books they can choose from, and then they have to take a test on the book. The program is divided by colors. He's been frustrated because he didn't officially change colors last year, and they book him in the same level at the beginning of this school year. As a parent this is annoying because he's the kid that gets in trouble for not putting a book away. Most quarters he doubles his AR goal. So how is it that they are telling me he hadn't advanced a level?
Anyhoots. His teacher said that he could move up to Orange today. He was super excited! I told him how proud I was, and we made brownies a la mode to celebrate. (I had leftover Carrot Cake - with real carrots - instead. Not sure how much better it actually was, but I'm trying)
