The boys & I just got back from a long weekend in AZ with friends and family. I was surprised at just how fast we have acclimated to this new weather. Everyone kept talking about how cold it was all weekend, but we thought it was great! Bean was even sweating a bit!
The ride there was uneventful. Bean only had one little crying kick that lasted for a minute or two, and he wasn't even very enthusiastic about it... Our time there was amazing. Saturday afternoon we was my great grandmothers 99th birthday. She'd fallen earlier this year, and we weren't sure she'd mend, but she's doing amazing now. Definately not up to her 'pre-fall' self, but DUDE, she'll be 99 this month! She kept cracking jokes all weekend. I love her so much, and am sooo thankful for another opportunity to make memories with her. The rest of the weekend was an awesome blur of seeing friends and family. Great fun! Since we were only there for a few days we didn't get to see everyone we wanted to, but it was so nice seeing the people that could come to us.
The way home was more interesting. Lol. We were pulled to the side at the Phoenix security. They needed to check something in Gmans bag. Uh-oh... He didn't do anything though. We brought Jason home 2 frozen Filiberto burritos, and they couldn't tell what they were through the Xray. Totally understandable, but I was really happy that we had allowed for enough time for the delay to not be stressful. They even offered to check our bags for free at the gate to make more room on the plane (Yay to 2 less suitcases to hall down that tiny aisle, we still had two FULL backpacks, jackets & Bean)!!
We landed fine in Denver. Sat and played for a while before getting some lunch. As we were sitting eating our $20 sandwiches they were offering people on another flight a night in a hotel, meal voucher & some $$ toward a future flight if they could be flexible on their travel plans and bump to another flight. I've always wanted to do that, but had never been offered (or I might have blocked it out since I couldn't accept hehehe). Gman agreed with me that it would be FUN! About 20 minutes later they DID offer it for our flight! WHOO HOO!! (Luckily Jason agreed with us). They flew us to Chicago for the night and put us up at the Crowne Plaza Hotel with enough food vouchers to more than cover dinner. It was amazing!
There's no place like home though. Was adorable to watch how excited Bean got to see Daddy at the airport. I put him down at security and he took off running with his arms up to be held. When Jason picked him up he started crying a bit he was so excited. I couldn't get enough kisses before he had to go back to work... Good thing it's time to go get him NOW! C-ya!

Leaving for AZ in less than an hour, so sad you won't be there.
